Branding and Project Revamp

Overview

Zillaz is a 2424 NFT collection inspired by pop culture associated with Godzilla and NFT pixelated art. Zillaz saw huge early success after mint but lost momentum while developing a 3D metaverse game in partnership with Sandbox.

Zillaz approached W3BLEN to help revamp branding and their community.

Scope of work:

  • Position Zillaz' as a premium collection
  • Establish visual consistency and conceive a scalable identity to support the collection's growth into new verticals (metaverse, 3D art, merch)
  • Rebuild project momentum and attract new buyers
  • Advise on how to position and launch their game

Areas we covered

1. Rebranding

The first focus was elevating the brand's look and feel, while retaining key concept pillars: Godzilla universe and having an accessible, cartoony feel.


W3BLEN:

  • Redesigned the existing logo as a stylized "Z" to resemble the scaled spine of Godzilla. 
  • Produced a graphic system with nuclear signs and Japanese-inspired clouds to complement the overall tone. 
  • Created bold color palettes mixed with vibrant reds and soft off-whites to tie the Godzilla themes with traditional Japanese color schemes in Japanese paintings.

2. Web Design, Development, and 3D animation

With the brand identity completed, W3BLEN began designing and developing an entirely new website to produce an immersive experience.

A 3D-rendered fight scene was produced for the website, then animated on-scroll to produce an immersive experience.


3. Game Positioning and Launch Advisory

With their new game launching as Solana's first Sandbox partner, Zillaz needed advice on how to sustainably implement their game framework and incentive system. They also needed advice on how to rebuild their momentum leading up to the game's release.
